Choices, Acceptance, and Love

So many people say that being homosexual is a choice. I really hate this argument because of the idiocy behind it. And it's a double standard. To my straight friends out there, I must ask a question of you: Did you choose to be straight?. If I told you to kiss someone of the same sex, could you CHOOSE to do it and follow through with it? Or would you realize how wrong it felt and tell me to go mind my fucking business and it's not a choice? If the second choice is your answer, then how come you are born this way, but homosexuals "make it a lifestyle choice"? How does that work? I can't choose the person I love or what gender they are. My heart wants what it wants.

My other argument here is that "all homosexuals just want sex". Um...ahahahaha, no. The thought of sex terrifies me. Yes, I am still a virgin at 22 years old, but I'm proud of that. I'm proud I haven't jumped in the sack because everyone else was doing it. I want it to be with the person I love. I just want to be happy and I want to have a lifelong companion. It sickens me that so many people think that all gay people want to do is fuck. It's just a really stupid thing to say.

And one other thing. If your straight marriage got destroyed by homosexuality...well, it's probably because the person who left you to pursue a homosexual relationship was that way from the beginning. But because of hatred and the image they are told to project, they've been hiding from their true self. Because of the prejudices and hatred of this world, homosexuals try to hide, to be "normal". But you can't deny who you are. You can't lie to yourself if you want to live a full, happy life. And every insult, every time you tell ANYONE they're disgusting because they're different, makes them hide away and be miserable in their lives. No one has the right to take away your happiness because you're different. I have no right telling a straight person that they need to be homosexual or they're freaks. In the same regard, you have no right telling a gay person they need to be straight.

What needs to be remembered here is that homosexuals are people too. Before anything, gender, sexual orientation, race, color...before all of that we are all humans. It's the base of our genetic makeup. We all are born with two eyes, one nose, a pair of lips, one heart, one soul...We all are made the same. But each person is individual in what they love to do, the people they love, the things they take pleasure in, and their general day-to-day life. Wouldn't this life be boring if everyone was the same?

And before anyone starts screaming at me, "YOU'RE A HOMO LOVER! YOU STR8 H8ER!" I want to make it clear that I don't hate straight people. I don't hate ANYONE except those who are unwilling to bend or who use the bible as a cover for their prejudices. That's just weak. If you really feel like homosexuality is wrong, tell me why without using the words "God" "Jesus Christ" or "bible". I won't listen. The bible is a tome that was written by man. Unless I find a time machine that can send me back in time and can prove to me, without a shadow of a doubt, that God said all of the words in that book, I hold it in question. I believe in faith and believing in God. But I also believe that your God is what you make Him, Her, Them...I believe in a God who is kind and gentle, loving and understanding. I believe He put us all here because He loves us. I don't think He gets His jollies by putting people who are different here on earth simply to say "You're going to Hell for being different even though I made you that way". I just don't, can't, and won't believe that.  In other words...I really don't like bible thumpers.

This message isn't just about homosexuals, though they are a large minority that is suffering at the hands of injustice and cruelty. But so many others are suffering. Blacks, whites, Asians, Latinos, large men, large women, skinny men, skinny women, someone who's Gothic, someone who's into computers instead of make up or music...In other words, every person can suffer at the hands of hatred and cruelty. For some reason, the human race loves to cut others down to make themselves feel better. But every person has something that might make them a freak. But maybe one group has more of the same thing than other groups and that makes them "popular". If you've ever heard of the popular group or a large group of followers for one cause called sheep, it's because they're just all alike.

At the base of it all, we are human. Love your fellow human beings and open the way of acceptance for the next generation.
